The Embellished Life's First Craft Show

Julie and I did our first craft show on Saturday! We got tons of compliments and lots of interest in her quilts and my plates. It was a lot of fun...

We walked around early and took a look at the different setups and what other crafters were offering. Then at the end, we took another look to see what sold and what didn't. It was interesting, we learned that merchandising occurs best at eye level. A wide range in product pricing was important because different markets look for different price levels. And the economy greatly affects the crafting trade, as they are mostly luxury, or non-necessary items. Apparently, when the economy was doing well, it was a great business. But several long time (20-23 yrs) crafters mentioned that now it was difficult to make a living.

Was the show successful for us? We sold more than some and less than others...but we learned a HUGE amount. I'd call it a success. Come visit Julie's Shieldmaiden site and my Embellished Life site and tell us what you think. Thanks!
